Operation director, JB Skills
Berni O’Leary has taken up the post of operation director for JB Skills, which specialises in apprenticeships, learner loans, individual functional skills and bespoke training.
Bringing 17 years of experience to the role, Berni will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the business, which now employs 33 people and encompasses Skills2Care under the company umbrella.

An experienced insolvency lawyer who has worked on high profile insolvency investigations has embarked on a new stage in his career. Aman Sehgal, who has more than ten years’ experience in corporate and personal insolvency, has joined North East law firm Muckle LLP and will look to build up the contentious work of the insolvency practice.
Head chef, The Jolly Fisherman
The Jolly Fisherman, which opened last month on the former Waterline pub site, has appointed Adam Hegarty as its head chef. Adam will oversee the restaurant’s kitchen, creating seasonal food made using only the best fresh seafood and locally sourced produce, having headed up some of the region’s top eateries, including Wynyard Hall and Baltic’s Six Restaurant.

North East-based metrology software products ltd (MSP) has appointed two new company directors. Margaret Toberty, who joined MSP in 2010 as business development manager, will take on a new role as director of operations, while Denise Brown, who has been instrumental in the financial success of the business since 2002, takes up the post of director of finance.
