Newcastle and Chester-le-Street-based Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP (GBLF) is to work with the National Golf Club Advisory Association (NGCAA) to provide advice and guidance to golf club managers, committees and owners on legal matters within its clubs in England and Wales.
Focusing on areas of law including employment law, corporate and commercial, dispute resolution, licensing and hospitality, property law and health and safety, Alistair Smith, associate solicitor within GBLF’s disputes and employment team, will be working closely with the association, with support from GBLF’s various legal teams.
Commenting on the contract win, Alistair says: “We are thrilled to have been appointed by the NGCAA – for a North East-based firm to work with a national client of this calibre is fantastic and a testament to the legal talent we have right here in the region.
“As a keen golfer myself, working with the NGCAA is a dream job. I’m very passionate about the sport and as a member of a local club, I’m aware of the ins and outs of the game and legal issues which can arise. Firm-wide we’re looking forward to working closely with the association.”
Jackie Howe, chief executive of the NGCAA, adds: “As we are responsible for supporting an extremely large number of member clubs spanning across the United Kingdom, it’s important for us to work closely with trusted experts, a relationship which we’re pleased to have formed with GBLF.
“The decision to work with a North East-based firm wasn’t a hard one, as GBLF’s reputation is second to none, and paired with Alistair’s knowledge of our industry, we know we’re in safe hands.”
